Down Under- Besonderheiten/Unterschiede

In Australia you may find a lot of differences between Germany and Australia

Street signs:

In Australia you will find a lot of helpful street signs protecting animals and people:

• Ducks crossing
• Koalas crossing
• Kangaroos crossing
• Blinds crossing
• Mother and children crossing..

Toilet room
In the toilet room- don't worry - to bolt the door you have to try the other direction..if you want to lock it- turn the bolt to the right - sounds funny? Yes it is!

Car wheel

When you want to get into a car- remember that the wheel is on the right! All pedestrians should look into the right direction when crossing a street.. maybe look twice

Supermarkets

You want to make a cake on Sunday? No problem! Most of the supermarkets are open on Sunday but the hours of business are a bit different.

False friends?

• Don't ask for a "hotel" in South-Australia- you may find a casino. You should better ask for an accomodation.
• If you want to eat something- maybe you'll find it in a "caffee". In South Australia a lot of restaurants are a combination of "caffee and really good food (fish, pasta, salads)

Maybe in the next weeks I will find much more differences :)
