Time to say goodbye..
That's crazy how short four weeks are! I would say these weeks had been the shortest in my life.
Every day we had so many beautiful experiences, that we didn't have time to think about it :D
Our house in Grange was amazing. 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, little garden :) 1 road to the beach- thanks a lot for giving us the "Dalliston house" http://www.stayz.com.au/132112
Thanks a lot to my company and all of the staff for spending so much time with me. It was a great experience in a great brewery
Thank you to the "mentor me" program organised by the South Australian Tourism Commission and the people who gave me the chance to come to South Australia- it was really a fantastic trip.
Visit the "Entdecke Südaustralien" page on Facebook ! http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/suedaustralien?fref=ts
Now I am travelling a bit in Australia. Can't get enough- there are so many things to see :)
See you,
Claudia

Easter Holidays in Australia
Did you know that Australians don't like rabbits?
In Australia rabbits are a serious pest causing every year millions of dollars damage. They were introduced in the 18th century with the first ships that came from Great Britain and became widespread after an outbreak. In the 20th century a lot of measures had been undertaken to gain control.
Furthermore they endanger the local animals like the cute Bilby. That's why some chocolate shops sell Bilbys for Easter instead of rabbits.

All about food?
Now I want to show you some typical "australian" food :D
Depending on the restaurant you are visiting, it is of course possible to have really good food- for example fusions of modern european kitchen and traditional things like kangaroo, emu, crocodile...
If you want to have really good kangaroo you should come to a restaurant, where people are used to cook it every day..
Many people here love pie's- I would recommend the hand made which you can find in good, traditional bakeries.
Beef/meat pie and apple pie- supermarket

Ap
Apple Pie

Corn Dog

Sandwich with ham- it is hard work to find good bread

Bacon pizza- quite good- but I don't really like so much bacon..
Burger- sometimes you find "rote Beete" on your Burger.. funny
I don't like the bread they use..
Fresh and tasty tacos to go
Hope you still enjoy my blog,
♥ Kind regards ♥

Hahndorf- little Germany
Visit the german part of Adelaide. A lot of german settlers came here in the last 200 years.
My last week is passing so fast... but I am already planning my next four weeks in the beautiful Australia.
Next stops:
See you,
Claudia
- See the Hahndorf Inn- it looks like a typical bavarian restaurant :D
- Visit the "German bakery" with real good "Bienenstich" and "Apfelstrudel"
- Buy some "cuckoo clocks" in the shops - for exemple the "German village shop"

Flinders Ranges- Outback Tour
Unforgetable days
Organised by the "Mentor Me" organisation and the South Australian Tourism Commission we had a 3 days experience in the Flinders Ranges and explored the outback of South Australia.
http://www.headingbush.com/ outback-tours/ flinders-ranges.html
The amazing landscape
The color of the soil and the stones is quite red. I couldn't stop taking pictures of the amazing landscape.
Trees and nature
The nature was really dry and you could see that bush fires are normal in that part of Australia. We weren't allowed to have a fire in the camp. And: the stars in the outback at night are much more easy to see than in our cities in Germany..
Wildlife & animals
We saw many.. many kangaroos, emus and birds. In the morning it is amazing to hear parrots (Papageien) instead of doves (Tauben). Really a great experience.
Australian Crow
Aborigines
Follow the culture of the native inhabitants and discover the paintings on the rocks.. Interesting isn't it? These paintings are more than 35.000 years old and look as if they were painted yesterday..
Our camp
I had a tent for my own and a comfortable bed inside of it with a mattress and a sleeping bag. In the camp were showers hot & warm and a breakfast room with kitchen.
What we ate
:D The food which was included in our trip was really good and I didn't expect such a good food in the Australian outback. We had breakfast each morning and stopped several times to enjoy some lunch. Furthermore we had a really good dinner on Saturday. You could chose between burger, SCHNITZEL !! :D
Breakfast/dinner Room-
Cooper's Original Pale Ale- was part of our first dinner on Friday :D
Outback Lunch- Oranges and quiches of ham and mushrooms
Thank you to the South Australian Tourism Commission for this fantastic trip.
It was great to explore the outback and I would recommend this trip to everybody.
See you soon again here on my blog,
Claudia

Coopers brewery- Australian made Australian owned

Tim Cooper- the managing director -->
Thanks to the South Australian Tourism Commission I have the unique chance now to be part of the biggest family owned breweries in Australia (founded 150 years ago).
Visit the Coopers homepage to get further information: http://www.coopers.com.au/
Every day from Monday to Friday I am getting up at 7.00 am to go to work. I already had some great days with the sales representatives "on the road" to visit the Coopers customers and I was involved in the preparation of festivals and I met the staff of the"marketing team".
I'm having a great time here :)
See you soon on my blog,
Claudia
